WaterCar is one of a handful of boat manufacturers that build their vehicles from aluminum.

Built with an Industrial Edge: We don’t mess around when it comes to materials. Our WaterCar EV is built with marine-grade alloys and even some corrosion-proof industrial metals—the same class of materials trusted in fighter jets, offshore oil rigs, and space shuttles. Most boat builders wouldn’t dare to go this far. It’s total overkill—but that’s exactly the point!

We have recruited our talented fabricators and technicians from around the world.

Our advanced high-strength aluminum unibody structure is the key to an exceptionally strong hull design. The WaterCar EV’s aluminum structure facilitates smooth driving on the road and high performance on the water.

Backed by nearly 50 years of earned experience in the automotive and marine industries, our aluminum design isn’t just tough—it’s built around 28 patented features that boost strength, safety, and performance. This isn’t your average boat—it’s in a category of its own.

We use marine-grade aluminum for the hull's water-contact surfaces to ensure exceptional durability. For maximum strength, we incorporate aircraft-grade aluminum on the inner structure, then we epoxy coat everything!

This provides:

  • Strength: a stout and robust aluminum unibody boat design.

  • Weight: high strength to weight ratio for performance on both land and water.

  • Safety: NMMA and US Coast Guard certified, closed cell foam is used to fill nearly every open compartment under the floor creating a virtually unsinkable boat. (Don’t try this at home: to pass the stringent coat guard certification we had to load the boat with newly 16,000 lbs!)

  • Durability: this isn’t a fiberglass or cheap plastic boat. We even go way beyond what most aluminum boat manufacturers do—using stainless steel and either epoxy-coated or anodized aluminum throughout. Most builders skip the epoxy or anodizing to save costs, but we don’t cut corners. It’s more expensive, but way tougher.
